Why curtail solar panels?

Our EMS software automatically controls the solar panels based on EPEX hourly prices and the imbalance market. In addition, we take into account the benefits of personal use, SDE++ subsidy, GvOs and receiving HBEs, so we only apply curtailment when it is most advantageous for you.

In the Netherlands, the number of solar panels installed is growing steadily. This growth is not synchronous with the grid capacity and means that there may be times when more energy is produced than is required. With grid congestion, energy prices can become negative, meaning you would have to pay for the energy that is generated.
